As part of Kinetika's community engagement programme for the Quintain development - London Designer Outlet in Wembley Park - which included the dazzling Sitare Festival last November (pictured), Kinetika People are gearing up for another event to celebrate the launch.

The Spring Festival will take place from 10am - 6.15pm on Saturday 5 April, 2014. It will feature a live silk painting event, where 50m of silk will be dyed to reveal drawings by 300 local school children. The Kinetika Bloco (pictured above) will also be performing twice on the day and will close the event by animating the finished piece of silk.

The 300 drawings are being created this week at our 'What's in the box? Batik Workshops' taking place on-site in Unit 51 at the outlet. There are two public drop-in sessions on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 March, from 11.30am – 5pm daily.
LOOK OUT FOR OUR ARTISTS AT LONDON DESIGNER OUTLET THIS WEEK!

In the Batik Workshops, pupils will be asked to draw images of gifts they would like to give or receive, and why. From 18 - 24 March they will be scouring the outlet for their inspiration.

Come and see the big reveal from 12 - 3pm on the day of the festival, where you can even take part in a treasure hunt and win prizes. Find our more on our Spring Festival Project PageTwitter and Facebook pages where we will be uploading galleries of all the school children’s drawings.

Follow the Spring Festival online! We'll be posting drawings by 300 school children in Brent. As we deliver each workshop we'll create galleries to showcase the work being made.

Ali Pretty has been commissioned by Art Reach to customize a 40m length of silk with designs to explore the Night of Festivals theme, celebrating freedom and independence through art.

For this year's festival in August, Ali will work with local participants in Leicester to share her design and making skills. Together they will paint designs onto the silk using the batik method on the first day of Night of Festivals on Saturday 16 August. There are plans for the finished design to be installed at a location in Leicester and and to be made available for other events such as World Young Artists later in the year.
