Welcome to the newsletter for April.
An amazing 2014 AGM kicked off our next year of campaigning with record attendance and the development of a new Campaign Plan. This month's newsletter also reports on the latest news on Gosforth High Street, a last call for your feedback on the campaign in our online questionnaire and some thoughts on what we are hoping for the future of cycling in our cities.

Upcoming dates for the diary are:
  • 3 May Space4Cycling Conference/Workshop Day at Leeds – an opportunity to attend the conference on behalf of the Newcastle Cycling Campaign, with train tickets from Newcastle funded on a first-come first-served basis.
  • Post AGM Get-Together – Following the AGM and Quarterly Members Meeting, we are in the process of setting dates for a members' get-together and discussions. Watch this space! (And see the article below for more info on the AGM.)

Keep on pedalling!

Newcastle Cycling Campaign AGM 2014

The Newcastle Cycling Campaign AGM for 2014 was very productive: amazing speakers, amazing audience and some ambitious resolutions; read about it all here.

Members Survey 2014

Further to all the invaluable feedback already received in the lead-up to the AGM, you can still complete our survey (deadline of 13 April), and this will be shortly followed by details of the prize winner, so please do leave your email address. Head here to fill in the short survey.

Gosforth High Street – Our View

After the publishing of two options for the future of Gosforth High Street by Newcastle City Council, click here to read what the campaign thinks of the choices available. And for what you think, see the article here.

Why We Want Space For Cycling

Do people have choices when it comes to transport? Is cycling a genuine option when the provision in our cities is so poor and unsafe? Read about this from the angle of a cycle commuter here.
And will anyone listen? Hear the thoughts of the campaign's Katja Leyendecker here.
To discuss all this, we will be meeting with the political chiefs on Tuesday 8 April at our Management Committee Meeting, and we'll also catch up with our Police Liaison Officer to discuss how we can work together with the police.
