Showcasing the beauty of the human spirit - in mid air - around the world

"I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life...if you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it at full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good. Hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be." - Roald Dahl

 The beauty that is life.

It was incredibly fun and exciting to do in my home province. I felt alive and full of great spirit.

Q: What inspires you in life?
A:
 The advancement of Indigenous people.

Q: Your greatest passion?
A:
I am passionate about creating change to facilitate a better future for Indigenous people.

Q: Your driving force?
A:
I want to create better futures for Native people in this country. I want change and I want to be able to make the biggest impact that I can to create that change so that our nations can become stronger and create healthy and prosperous futures.

Q: Your philosophy?
A:
To be conscientious about the future but to live in the now.

Q: Anything in the world?
A: I would create an equal playing field for First Nations people in this country. I work for igniting change in Indigenous youth through Urban Native Magazine and inspiring dreams.

Q: Working on?
A: I am working to create Urban Native Magazine to have it's first print issue this year, I have a book that I'm working on with Annick Press about Indigenous youth in North America, and I am working on creating impact through my non-profit initiative, Urban Native Tribe - an Aboriginal youth media training centre in Toronto.

Q: Mini bio, interesting facts about you or something special you want to share.
A:
I’m a storyteller and a social entrepreneur. Recently I’ve been named by Huffington Post as one of three Aboriginal Millennials to watch, and have been selected as a DiverseCity Fellow for 2013-2014. I have over eight years as a published writer, and have been published in The Guardian, CBC Arts, and THIS Magazine. I graduated from York University with a degree in Professional Writing.

I’ve had a blog for over six years, Urban Native Girl, which led me to launch Urban Native Magazine. This Native lifestyle magazine is an extension of the blog to showcase success stories and to inspire Indigenous youth to dream big.
