Dr. Wendy Rice explains the difference between different types of memories and why some things are so much easier to remember than others.

What's Happening at Rice Psychology

Please welcome Heather Hernandez, Ph.D. to Rice Psychology Group. Heather will be available 1-2 afternoons a week providing Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT: http://www.pcit.org/).  PCIT is an empirically-supported treatment for young children with emotional and behavioral disorders that places emphasis on improving the quality of the parent-child relationship and changing parent-child interaction patterns.  She will also work with school aged kids, tweens and families struggling with behavior and emotional challenges.  Include link to click here to read more about Dr. Hernandez.

Wendy participated in Plant High School’s First Annual Healthy Families Healthy Kids Forum.  Their School Social Worker, Lourdes Gonzalez, School Psychologist, Mr. Jim Landers, Principal, Mr. Nelson and PTSA put on this terrific event. Wendy participated in a panel discussion with other professionals to answer audience questions about mental health related issues.  Big focus on destigmatizing mental health in the schools!  Way to go Plant!  We will see you next year!

Wendy was also very fortunate to present to the counselors from many of the local Catholic Schools on strategies for kids with processing disorders.
