SBS Graduation Celebration? Each department in the College will have a student speaker at the 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, event in the Mullins Center. It's a rock concert venue with video screens, a screaming audience and your parents! If you'd like to represent your fellow Journalism graduates, please write a one-minute (one page) speech that perfectly captures your experience in the coolest major in the College. • UMass alum and State Senator
Marc Pacheco will be holding
a talk on climate change from 3 to 4 p.m. today, April 14, in Morrill Science Center 203.
• Career Services is hosting a "
Commencement fair for seniors" from 12 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, in the Campus Auditorium. Have your senior portrait taken, sign up with the Alumni Association, or purchase a diploma frame.
• The Center for Student Development is hosting the
8th Annual Awards Ceremony "The Sammies" from 7 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, in the Campus Center Auditorium. The awards are meant to acknowledge the work of students, staff, and faculty.

II. Jobs, Internships and Scholarships

The Recorder of Greenfield, Mass., an award-winning, 13,000-circulation morning newspaper located in the Five College region, is looking for a full-time, entry level general assignment reporter. The paper, privately owned, strives for excellence in community journalism. Reporters share news and feature writing responsibilities. • Tomorrow, April 15, is the deadline for the
Thomas Family Scholarship (worth $1,400). Journalism majors who are taking an unpaid or underpaid internship in the field of emergent media and have a minimum of 3.0 GPA and financial need should apply.
• Also tomorrow, April 15, is the deadline for the
Robert Crowley Memorial Prize for Excellence in Collegian Writing (worth $500), which will be awarded to a published Collegian columnist. All submissions must be copies of columns published during the academic year in the Collegian. Students may submit up to three columns for consideration. Hard copies should be submitted to Donna Vanasse in 107 Bartlett.
• This is the last week to apply for an editor's position with
