Earth Hour - Jordan
The RSCN organized Earth Hour Saturday the 29th of March, during with 1,000 people turned off their non-essential lights for 1hr between 8:30pm and 9:30pm. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of the need to take action against climate change. Many Jordanians have joined in this campaign.

Scientific Name: Iris bismarckiana
Endemic: Perennial herb, with underground rizhoum.
Habitat: Forest, land, mountain; is found in Amman, Ajloun and Dibeen.
Flowering period: April –May.
The Black iris is considered as the national flower of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Wild Recon Film Screening (2,000 JOD)
Wild Recon is one of the wildest shows on Animal Planet. It follows the adventures of Donald Schultz, an animal explorer, who is taken on dangerous missions that could yield life-changing scientific discoveries.
The RSCN has hosted the Wild Recon group in Jordan and facilitated the filming of Jordan’s wildlife, and specifically its animals. In order to share this unique experience with the public — nature and wildlife lovers in particular — the RSCN is now aiming at screening this film in a public theater, followed by a discussion with our researchers to give an exciting “behind the scenes” account of the filming.
