The Nordic Drama Train
In June 2014, the Danish ITI is hosting the Nordic Performing Arts Days as part of the presidency of the Nordic Theatre Union (NTU) in the same year. During these days, the Nordic Drama Train will make its first stop. The Train is a way of promoting Nordic playwrights and every second year, a national jury selects plays from its own country. The plays will be translated and in different ways promoted in all the Nordic countries. The Swedish jury has selected Jag målar min himmel orange by Sofia Fredén and Författarna by Alejandro Leiva Wenger. Read more about the Nordic Performing Arts Days here.

This is that Philippe Blanchard
This is that is a thought-provoking installation piece created by choreographer Philippe Blanchard together with filmmakers Luca and Gabriele Stifani where the construction of images and the meaning we attach to appearances is questioned. It is their second collaboration after How about you?, a subtly humoristic and contemplative performance about the search for oneself through others.

I Call my Brothers (Jag ringer mina bröder) Kulturhuset Stadsteatern Stockholm

A car has exploded in Stockholm. Amor is wandering around a paranoid city full of police, on the hunt for a spare part for a drill. He has a phone in his front pocket and a knife in his back pocket. He will answer when Shavi calls; he will stop stalking Valeria. Above all, he will act maximally normal. But what is normal behavior? Who is a potential suspect? And what happens when one becomes the target of suspicious glances?

For 24 intense hours we find ourselves in Amor’s head, where the lines between criminal and victim, love and chemistry, and paranoia and reality become increasingly fuzzy. This novel is based on a column Khemiri published in December, 2010 — one week after the suicide bombing in Stockholm.

I Call my Brothers is a both scary and humorous depiction of how paranoia destroys both the person seen and the seer. This is Jonas Hassen Khemiri’s much longed-for return to prose and was also staged and toured Sweden with Riksteatern in spring 2013.

William Stockholms Musikteater
Set in London in 1592 the humorous and playful new musical ”William” examines Shakespeare’s deepest and complex thoughts in this tour de force musical. His 154 sonnets, written with Shakespeare’s unbridled lust for life, his humour, passion for love, budding insanity, impotence and jealousy, reveal much about Shakespeare and his time. ”William” takes a deep look at these sonnets and tries to find the answers to a 400-year old mystery – who was William Shakespeare?
