Welcome to Martha Kisling's Creative Painting!

The wonderful thing about art is that there is ALWAYS something new to learn, practice or  experiment with whether it is a new technique, subject, style or medium. I have mainly focused on watercolor painting and all that it has to offer over the last twenty years but there are so many new art supplies on the market and they are so fun to play with that I have decided to offer a new Acrylic, Collage and Mixed Media class - you can read more about it below.

Be sure to check out my blog to see past postings and more of my art and you can also subscribe to this newsletter if you haven't already. Check out past newsletters here.

Paintings of Water

I try to post to my blog several times a week to keep everyone updated on my art. One of the fun things about a blog is being able to view present and past paintings by topic or category. You can see all of my different paintings of water including the ocean, lakes, waterfalls, streams and koi ponds here

I would love it if you checked out my Facebook Creative Painting page and hit the like button!

Watercolor on Yupo Workshop

Celebrate the beautiful colors of spring and have a fun day of painting watercolor on Yupo. Yupo is a synthetic paper with a slick surface that allows for all sorts of wonderful painting techniques. Play with different ways to apply paint, lift, roll, burnish, stamp, stencil and texture and then apply these to three different floral paintings.
Workshop will be held at the Fine Art Center in Colorado Springs, CO. More info here

Weekly Classes
March Negative Painting

My weekly watercolor classes focused on negative painting for the month of March - flowers, grapes, trees and white buildings. For SPRING DAY I used the greens in the trees and background bushes to shape the building and white fence. Next month, we will focus on painting different types of Textures in Watercolor.
