APICS Detailed Scheduling and Planning

CDL-A Training

Gateway is proud to work in partnership with the tri-county Workforce Development Centers to offer a 5-week, fully-funded training for CDL-A (Commercial Driver License) truck drivers for qualified candidates. 

Training starts on April 28 and ends May 30, 2014.

Spaces are limited! 

You must attend an orientation at the Horizon Center for Transportation Technology,  4940 88th Avenue (Hwy H) Kenosha, WI:

  • Monday, April 14 - 10:00 am - noon 
  • Monday, April 14 - 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Supervision/Leadership Part-Time Faculty position

Are you a dynamic presenter who is passionate about helping supervisors and leaders succeed on-the-job? Gateway's Workforce and Economic Development Division is seeking a half-time instructor who has:
  • 2 years of paid, non-teaching, supervision of direct reports in a professional work setting
  • Experience teaching adults in a business setting
  • Prior sales experience in any industry, training contracts preferred
  • Working experience with computer software systems
  • Certification with training vendors and curriculum design is a plus

Gateway Technical College offers apprenticeship training in the service, construction and industrial trades. One of the programs offered through the service trades is Cosmetologist Apprentice. Click here to watch the video.

Telecommunications Boot Camp Planning Meeting  

Are you a telecommunications employer? If so we would like your feedback. 

In order to meet the needs of local industry Gateway Technical College is seeking your  input on the curriculum we are developing for a new Telecommunications Installer Boot  Camp. This camp is being developed and the first session will begin in August. If you are not already familiar with the Boot Camp model, it is a rigorous program which provides orientation, assessment, support services, soft skill and technical skill training in a simulated workplace environment. Participants attend classes 40 hours per week and will complete the telecommunication program in 11 weeks.

We engage employers through participation in curriculum review, mock interviews, plant tours, learning lab assistants, adjunct faculty, tutoring and job placement upon completion.

Planning Meeting
Friday, May 2nd with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. followed by a one-hour meeting from 8:00 am - 9:00 am at Gateway's SC Johnson iMET Center located at 2320 Renaissance Blvd in Sturtevant.
