"superUnplugged"

The Apples Don't Fall Too Far From the Trees

This Saturday, April 5th,  we are excited to host the legendary Jim Avett (yes that's the father of North Carolina's favorite sons Scott & Seth aka The Avett Brothers)  as he performs on stage at Bourgie Nights# with local troubadour, Sean Thomas Gerard.

These are two phenomenal singer/songwriters and your attendance would be greatly appreciated as it is likely the first and last time to see Mr Avett on such an intimate stage.

Beer Thirty

North Carolina Beer Month is upon us. As a member of the NC Brewer's Guild, manna is proud to serve only beers made in the state of North Carolina.

Mother Earth Brewing

Two of our favorites, Fullsteam (Durham) & Mother Earth (Kinston) have recently collaborated on a one off product called "WhipaSnapa" (a wheat session IPA coupled with an American pale ale).

Fullsteam Brewery

We are fortunate to have been allocated 1 (one) 5 gallon keg and look to unleash it sometime this week.

Come by and score a glass!

Wine of the Week

Cayuse Vineyards

“Cayuse is no longer a secret and it may be America’s toughest mailing list to crack....but do whatever it takes to get your hands on a few of these gems.”—Jay Miller, The Wine Advocate

Talk about a once in a lifetime experience..."cracking" into the heart of a cult winery. Cayuse is as hot a winery as there is...on par with Screaming Eagle, Corra, Hundred Acre, Seasmoke, & all those impossible wines to locate. Well, leave it to Don Holloway to get us a few bottles...and by a few, i mean 6 total: as in 3 of two different vineyard specific Syrahs from Walla Walla, Washington.

These wines won't be on the list...they'll be waiting for someone who has heard it through the grapevine (argh!)

"Wines"days
Wednesday nights at 5pm.
Come in. Blind Taste. Win stuff.

The Buzz on Booze

Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon

Waited a bit for this special bottle of one of the pillars of bourbon, Four Roses. While it is not extremely rare, it is difficult to get into the state (or at least that is what we've been told). Now that it is here, we are beside ourselves.

Notes from the Master Distiller:
"Marrying, or mingling, multiple Bourbon recipes is an art in itself. Four original and limited Bourbons have been expertly selected by our Master Distiller at the peak of maturation to create a perfectly balanced small batch Bourbon that rewards you with a mellow symphony of rich, spicy flavors along with sweet, fruity aromas and hints of sweet oak and caramel. Finishes soft, smooth and pleasantly long.  90 proof."
  • Nose: Spicy, rich, mellow, fruity, hints of sweet oak & caramel.
  • Palate: Creamy, mellow, ripened red berries, rich, spicy, well-balanced, moderately sweet.
  • Finish: Soft, smooth & pleasantly long.

Whiskey Wednesdays with Ian & the bar next door.

Thursday Tapas

Every Thursday, Jameson and the kitchen team prepare a special menu of tapas-sized plates for our bar patrons. We focus our attention on a theme or historical event. The entire month of April is dedicated to North Carolina and our local agriculture.

Featured artisan farmers:
Cottle Organic,
Black River Organic,
Shelton Herb Farm,
Progressive Farms,
Feast Down East (co-op)
and many, many more.

Menu is available beginning at 7pm.

Call (910)-763-5252 if you want us to save you a seat (or two)...
otherwise, it's first come, first serve.
