Jeanne's Story

When her firefighter husband died tragically from duty-related causes, Jeanne learned just how much Widows & Orphans cares for the families of our fallen heroes. The charity has been such an integral part of her rebuilding her life, she is dedicated to volunteering with the organization. See her story in her own words.

Legacy of Generosity

Ruth liked firefighters so much, she married one. She and her husband Jack, a firefighter and captain, enjoyed life the way only two people in love truly can. And even after his passing, she continued to stay connected to the firefighter community, often thanking firefighters she met for their service. That appreciation led her to create a legacy by joining the Eternal Flame Society. Read her inspiring story.

Grainger Cares

What does an industrial supply company have to do with amazing food? Grainger is a regular Hope for Firefighters sponsor. The event features firefighters from different stations in a no-recipe-barred competition, during which visitors enjoy their culinary creations. For His Son's Life

One January day in 2007, Wayne Huddleston got the call no parent wants—his son had been shot in an altercation with some muggers. Paramedics stabilized his son and rushed him to the hospital, saving his life. That's why Wayne regularly contributes to the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Fireman's Fund. Read the whole story
