Haiti is still in the process of rebuilding after its catastrophic earthquake. Please join us for this panel discussion and small reception with panelists who will discuss the benefits and challenges of assisting with the reconstruction abroad while working with a U.S.-based organization. Visit our website to RSVP.
Join YAANY members on Long Island as we lend our support to the Interfaith Nutrition Network's WalkINN. We will participate as a group in the WalkINN to help raise funds for the Interfaith Nutrition Network, a once-small soup kitchen that has grown to become the largest private social service agency of its kind on Long Island. Registration on the INN website and via e-mail is required, so be sure to visit our website for more information.
Announcing the YAANY Benefit Partners Program!
We are excited to launch a new initiative: we are extending our community outreach by supplementing our public service and social justice programs to help raise awareness and funds for partner organizations and their causes. YAANY will publicize a benefit event or dinner hosted by select partner organizations to affirm our support for their contribution to the city and greater New York area and bring together Yalies who share an interest in those causes.. Our launch partners are Upwardly Global and the Kingsbridge Heights Community Center, both of which have benefit events in early June. Visit our website for more information, including how to reserve your ticket(s) for these special events!
Join Run for the Wild and Repair Homes on Long Island, 4/26 and 5/10
The sixth annual Yale Day of Service (YDOS) is just one month away on Saturday, May 10th! Visit yaledayofservice.org to register to volunteer and be part of something bigger today.
Here are two YDOS sites for you to consider. Our first featured site is the Wildlife Conservation Society's Run for the Wild on April 26th, where you and the Yale alumni team can run a 5K starting at the Bronx Zoo. The funds raised will support projects to conserve elephants and other imperiled animals around the globe and at the Bronx Zoo. The second is a service site on Long Island with Community Mainstreaming Associates (CMA) on May 10th. CMA provides homes and support for people with intellectual disabilities; volunteers will help out with projects at their homes, working side by side with the individuals who live there. Please see below for more information about these uplifting YDOS sites:
