beer is great!

Hi <<First Name>>,

Your Recommendations!

We've seen a lot of changes to the UK beer scene in the past 40 years with the growth of beer consumerism; expansion of microbreweries and increased interest in bottle conditioned beers and home produced American-esque styles of beers.

Some time ago, we mentioned on here that if you have a local brewer that we should have on the site, then you let us know*,  and as you know we've worked hard bringing celebrated breweries to you, especially Kernel, Beavertown and Camden breweries from London, and nearby us Old Dairy and Gadds' from Kent.   Reaching out beyond the south east has always meant larger orders and thus selectivity, but your recommendations have now brought us Tiny Rebel, Redwell, Salopian and XT Brew

read on to meet the new beers on the site!  (*and if you think your local brewery should feature let us know!)

Salopian Brewery

We're super pleased to be able to offer Salopian brewery beers, A brewery that straddles the traditional and contemporary really well, winning awards and fans the UK over.

Salopian Brewery was established at an Old Dairy on the outskirts of the medieval town of Shrewsbury in 1995, the plant having been moved from Snowdonia brewery in North Wales. It was then reckoned to have the second smallest brew length in the country for a brewery not attached to a Pub.

Over the next couple of years the brewery became well known for producing unusual beers, mainly based on continental styles such as Altbier and Weiss; now they are celebrated for their excellent hoppy beers, Automaton quietly regarded as one of the best UK Brewed big full strength IPA's today and their incredible Black Ops Stout.  Love pale and hoppy, don't miss the amazing Oracle.

Special emphasis was placed on consistency and to this end several strains of yeast were trialed until the right one was found – the same strain still used today. Of course consistency is important, but just as important is quality! It has always been their policy to source the best ingredients available – saving a few pennies on malt and hops at the expense of flavour is not a saving. Indeed the brewery only uses expensive aroma hops to provide a more distinctive flavour. Over the years the testimony received from our loyal customers has proved this as well as their strong showing at all the major brewing competitions.

The brewery has never stood still since 1999, sales have grown every year since and capacity has been increased twice in that period. "We pride ourselves on the uncomplicated, natural and traditional way our beers are produced, and like to think that our customer care compliments that ethos."

Do not miss out on Automaton, Black Ops and Oracle!  Don't let the traditional styling fool you into thinking otherwise... these are top class beers!

XT Brewing

XT Brewing Company produces a wide range of "eXTremely" tasty craft beers from their brewery at Notley Farm in the village of Long Crendon, on the Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire border near Thame. The brewery was created by Russ and Gareth in 2011 using a custom, all British built 18bbrl brewhouse. They brew all their own real ales for cask and bottles using very traditional methods but on the most up to date equipment.

Gadds' of Ramsgate

Gadds' of Ramsgate Brewery began life in the back of the Belgian Bar, in Ramsgate. Whilst not brewing Belgian beers they spent the following four years struggling away in the tight, smelly and smokey surroundings until they'd built up enough customers to break free. In 2006 they purchased a big shed and set-up again (properly this time), bigger, better and bolder than before, brewing fresh, tasty, local ale for fresh, tasty locals!

Harviestoun Orach Slie

This light, slightly-sweet barrel-aged lager is the latest addition to their highly-acclaimed barrel-ageing project. Old Dairy

Local to us, Old Dairy Brewery, are gathering a fan base here and very popular around the locale here in Kent. Another brewery who are reaching out, and using different ingredients and processes to explore what beer can be, and their 500th Brew Aniversary Beer, that's Brett refermented old ale marking their 500th gyle, released in a celebrational case and strength, 11%, is really great (try with some cheeses, esp a mature cheddar).  New to the range is an american pale ale, Sitting Bull.

Old Dairy Sitting Bull is a great American Pale Ale.  The clever use of American hops provides an aromatic beer, which has lovely sweet edges of caramel and toffee. Old Diary Brewery tasting notes: "We have brewed this beer with Amarillo and one of the most exciting new American hops called X366. With the new addition of Cara and Crystal malts, we have created a beautifully bitter APA with notes of lychee, grapefruit and caramel."
Old Dairy 500th Gyle Vintage Ale Inspired by Benskin’s Colne Spring Ale. Refermented with Brettanomyces for at least 100 days.
