Changemakers  | Emerging local sustainability and community leaders  |
People running projects and initiatives that are making a difference in the community

Attend these valuable workshops to:
EXPAND YOUR IMPACT

Many lead/coordinate community initiatives that address environmental and/or sustainability challenges. Some lead the BSG's action groups, but there are others too. These local leaders work tirelessly to implement their projects, often as volunteers, with limited funds and resources.

Implementing these initiatives can be rewarding, but also demanding and difficult. The Bendigo Sustainability Group is hosting a series of workshops to provide:
  • training to emerging local sustainability and community leaders to enhance and expand their impact;
  • opportunity for local leaders to learn together, fostering a culture of collaboration and skill sharing.

1. Project Planning with a Difference                                                            7-9pm, Thursday 1 May 2014
You’re passionate about making a difference and have a project in mind - where do you start? How do you roll it out? This workshop introduces the Make a Change Power Plan to develop a plan to take your project forward. It provides a template for clearly setting out the project, looks at strengths and barriers for success and investigates ways to ensure we stick to the plan. This workshop is a must for any changemaker!

2. Powerful requests and engaging others                                                    7-9pm, Thursday 8 May 2014
We always need more people to join us in the projects or groups that we are organising. In this workshop we learn how to attract people and build a team so our project rocks. We also explore how can we build momentum and engage large numbers to participate in what we are doing.

3. Introduction to effective teams                                                                 7-9pm, Thursday 15 May 2014
How do we work effectively in a team so we can get the best outcomes for the project? In this workshop we take a look at the Six Habits of Highly Effective Teams and apply the thinking to the teams we are involved in right now.

4. Money matters!                                                                                           7-9pm, Thursday 22 May 2014
In changemaking there’s always the pressure of finding funds for our exciting ventures. In this workshop we take a look at what funds we actually need, what are the options and what stops us from asking for money. We pull all of this together to come up with a draft fundraising plan for our projects.
