Do your share your passion? Last week I shot a welcome video for my new website that explains how I help photographers who share mine.  Take a look here.

The Giant's Causeway, Co. Antrim.

When you head off for a weekend what do you pack in the car?  If you're like me then you probably have at least one camera with you, even if its just the one on your phone.  I am heading to Antrim next month to run a workshop and meet some great people.  We plan to have a weekend on the Giant's Causeway and along the coast line capturing its wonderful atmosphere.  As well as a couple of DSLR's and a tripod, clothes and all the usual stuff I am taking along a fine art printer, Hahnemule A3 fine art paper (bright white, my favourite) and spare ink cartridges.  Why I hear you ask?  Well anybody who signs up for the few remaining places on the trip will not only spend a great weekend immersed in the landscape and in their photography but they will be returning after the weekend with a free portfolio of their prints.  A photograph is not really a photograph until it's printed, in my opinion, so this means that they will be ready to hang, frame and show them off straight away after the weekend.  We will be ensconced in the beautiful Causeway Hotel, a 3 star hotel right on the Causeway itself which means that we get to repeatedly photograph it in the different light and  weather conditions.
The weekend begins with collection from Belfast international Airport on Friday April 11th and finishes on the afternoon of Monday the 14th.  As I write there are only 3 places remaining so book yours now on my new website HERE where you will find all the details from an itinerary for your weekend, a PDF that you can download and a link to pay your deposit and secure your place now.

The Hag's Head, Co.  Clare
I am really looking forward to running the next West of Ireland Phototour this coming May and am delighted to say that I have been inundated with enquiries about the trip.  I put this down partly to my new Website which is far more user friendly and accessible and also to the renown that the West of Ireland has around the world.  The trip commences on the 10th of May with collection from Shannon Airport and runs for 7 days finishing on the 17th of May.  We cover a huge amount of the Wild Atlantic Way from the Burren in Co. Clare, the Aran Islands and as far north as the historic Ceide Fields in North Mayo.
This Landscape is synonymous with shaping the perception of Ireland and Connemara has long been identified both as a picturesque destination and as a place of pilgrimage for the Irish diaspora who, over the years had to emigrate.  In the 20th century it featured in John Ford's The Quiet Man and the postcards of John Hinde both of which idealised and helped launch an insatiable appetite for this region of Ireland.
You can see all the details and book your place HERE.  There are only 6 places so do it now!

If you are looking for a unique gift, perhaps for Mothers day or a special occasion then take a look at my new website that makes it much easier to own a limited edition fine art print!

I followed up with a workshop participant to find out what he found most useful about his experience.  This is what he said:
Hi Brian,
The dawn workshop was very helpful, before it I struggled taking photographs in low light. With the time you spent with me I found a huge improvement and have been able to capture the images that I want since.

Kind regards
