Congratulations to Kyle Bennett, another "Monster" of a Welder!

Kyle is the second GTS student to get his 6G Pipe Combination Certification ("Monster Combo") within the regular 500 hour program! Additionally, Kyle is pictured above conducting charity work for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, braving below freezing temperatures to repair the facility dumpster and other much-needed projects. Kyle's welding ability, work ethic, and leadership stand out to his instruction team. Kyle graduates this week and will make a valuable employee to a top company in the near future. Congratulations, Kyle!

SKILLS USA 2014

Chuck E 2009 back in the ATL

VIP Guest Judge Lanse Edwards, of ChuckE2009 YouTube fame, with GTS President Joanna Blythe and GTS Executive Director Ryan Blythe at the 2014 Skills USA Georgia Career Expo. Lanse shot videos for his channel highlighting Georgia Trade Schools role as the technical chair in the welding and fabrication competition. With 40,000 subscribers and over 11,000,000 views the best welders in the Peach State will be seen far and wide.

Judicial Review

GTS Vice President Sean Quinton for the second consecutive year served as the technical chair of the welding and fabrication competition. In this role, Mr. Quinton is responsible for managing the welding projects and judges. With a record crowd in attendance including 5,000 high school students, we are very honored to be responsible for the â€œWorld of Weldingâ€.

One of the things we pride ourselves on are the industry giants who choose to partner with us. At Skills USA our friends at Jackson Safety and Caterpillar joined the 55 foot â€œWorld of Weldingâ€ which included demonstrations, cornhole games and giveaways. Also at the Career Expo we debuted our new eight foot high â€œBuild Your Navyâ€ display highlighting our partnership with Huntington Ingalls Industries.
