This is our 5th year partnering with Artscape, and this year, we have secured an even larger venue in a very high traffic area. This gives us the space to have even more arcade machines and developers showcasing their games. We are also working with Magfest (
http://magfest.org) to bring in after-hours videogame music bands to the event.
For those who may not be familiar with Gamescape, it is an annual video game showcase and arcade that happens during Artscape. Artscape takes place in Baltimore and is the largest free art festival in the US (with over 350,000 attendees).
We will have an inside area with tables set up for video game
developers to showcase their latest and greatest and an area for classic arcade cabinets from Magfest (
http://magfest.org). This year we'd also like to add a gaming lounge for people to play popular games like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros, along with a merchant area and a gallery of video game themed artwork. In my experience, this has been a great place to show off your game and get tons of feedback from potential players. For Pure Bang, it's as much a weekend of focus testing as it is for marketing our new games. It's also really awesome to connect with other developers and see what is going on in the scene.
