sphere #63
My series, "Spheres of Imperfection," will be shown at the Old Town Art Center, beginning April 6 and running through May 1. These are photos of imaginary spherical objects constructed digitally from other photos or scanned objects. You can view more images from the series and read a statement about it here.
The public opening and reception will be Sunday, April 13, from 2-5 pm. I hope to see you there. The Center is located in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago at 1763 N North Park Ave. If you can't make it to the opening, regular viewing hours are Tue-Fri, 10-5, Sat, 10-1.

My photo, "Close Encounter," (above) taken at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, won "Best in Show" at the Senior Artists Network (SAN) annual Members' Show, currently on view at the Beverly Arts Center, Chicago. The show is comprised of work, in all media, from 52 member artists. SAN is a nonprofit organization, now in its 26th year, whose mission is to support visual artists 50 years and older in the Chicagoland area. You can learn more about SAN here.

The book "Green Art: Trees, Leaves, and Roots" by E. Ashley Rooney was just published by Schiffer Press. I am one of about 100 artists whose work is featured. It is a lovely hardcover book full of tree-related visual art in all media. It is available from Barnes & Noble bookstores and here from Amazon.com.
