The L.A.Times profile came hot on the heels of Saturday's successful Spring Break fundraiser. Not only did this year's event raise $1.5 million for City Year's work in high-need schools, it also generated quite a bit of media buzz.

As if this weren't enough, last night's episode of The Voice had a special surprise for City Year supporters. We don't want to give anything away, but let's just say Team Shakira had a close encounter with some yellow jackets...
