Coast to Coast- Directors Cut

 
The Coast to Coast 2014 video - the directors cut has just been released.  If you did the event, supported someone in the event or are interested in doing the Coast to coast some time in the future then make sure that you check this out!

Pace Runners required for the Chch half marathon


Would you like to join the CP pace running crew?  We are looking for 2 pace runners at each of the following times.  You should be able to run at least 10mins quicker so the time that you are running is not a struggle and you are able to stick to your pace and encourage those that are running with you.
 
We are also looking for 4 cyclists to help follow the lead runners.

Training Tip: Get amongst it!

Have you got the bad weather blues? Sometimes the best way to beat them is to wrap up warm and get amongst it. Now is a good time of year to do a stocktake of your winter training wardrobe. A good quality waterproof and breathable jacket is a great investment (go and see Graeme and the team at R&R Sport for some advice!) Team that up with a beanie and pair of gloves, and you'll be set to take on the conditions. Getting out the door is the hard bit, once you're out you might be surprised how invigorating the bad weather can be!

Epic Taupo Swim camp

 This is probably the best preparatory swim camp available for CP Ironman athletes. It runs in Jan 2015. 1 day sportive swimming / 1 day theory coaching and 2.5 km swim on the Epic race course / 1 day racing either 2.5 km, 5km or 10km! and a final 2.5km race the next day.   • Tuesday: Rosie's kayak group (6:30am) starts 29th April
  • Tuesday: Simon's run group (6:15pm) Last session at Halswell Quarry next week with a rogaine styled session Click here to book in for the next training block - meeting at Pioneer Stadium
  • WednesdayFleur's run group at Hagley Park (6-7am)
  • Wednesday: CP Winter cycle group (road bike), 5:30-6:30pm, 6 weeks starting 16th April. 
  • SundayCP Cycle group (8:30am), or
  • Sunday: Run Group (8:30am start)- meeting at  Coffee Culture Beckenham.
  • nb.  Wednesday spin will start in July for the Tour de France. There will be a booking option for Spin on the website this week. 
  

 

Chain Reaction Night racing

WORLD MOUNTAIN BIKE NIGHT RACING CHAMPIONSHIP 2014
McLean’s Forest Park, Christchurch
Wednesday nights – MAY  7 / 14 / 21 / 28th  and JUNE 4 / 11 / 18 / 25th 

Never night raced before?...But would like to give it ago.  As mentioned above, the course is approx. 20km in length so you need to be able to comfortably ride that distance. You also need a good set of lights. There is a big cross section of riders who race in this series and the racing ranges from very competitive and full on to competitive but not so full on.  All riders are welcome and everyone should ride at whatever pace suits them.
