Holiness, Godliness, Usefulness

Lesson 212: Without Faith, Part 3
God said that He will avenge all wrongs in His perfect timing.
Rom.12:19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
We don’t really believe that, so we spend time fantasizing about how we can “get back” at someone.
God said that sin is deceitful. Since we are not convinced, we play with fire.
Heb.3:13 exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
God said that without holiness, no one will see the Lord. Heb.12:14
If we seriously believed that, we would make holiness a priority. To be holy, we need faith. We could even define faith as obeying God, and trusting Him for the results.
Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Heb.11:6
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
