Lakewood Ladies will be at the home of Emily Harwood at her new house at 6835 Casa Loma Ave. on Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. We are inviting all women in the 'hood to attend our monthly evening event. No need to RSVP, just come out and join other ladies from the neighborhood for a night of fun. We ask that you bring a snack or bottle of wine to share.

White Rock Lake YMCA Brick Campaign

The White Rock YMCA is excited to announce the launch of its brick campaign as a part of the larger Pathways Capital Campaign that has been taking place over the past year. We are in the final stages of the campaign with $1.5M to go to our goal. As a part of the campaign we are inviting everyone in the community to support at all levels!

Here's whats happening in Dallas: Do you remember Fair Park? It's not just for the State Fair, there are plenty of activities to do with the family. Beauty and the Beast will be at the AT&T Performing Arts Center April 15-27 and LEEF is still accepting donations for better Lakewood Elementary School.

Art In The Park will be in Lindsley Park on April 27 from noon to 6 p.m. There will be plenty of local talented artists. But, there's one artist you should look for, Walter Eduardo Soza of SozaDesigns. Walter, his wife Tammy and young son live in Lakewood Hills on La Vista.
The Lakewood Hills banner on this newsletter and website are Walter's design. He has several local art (art prints, framed art prints, magnets, etc.) from Lakewood Theater to Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge to Highland Park Village Theater and everything in between. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 19 from noon-2 p.m. at Lindsley Park for the annual Lakewood Hills Picnic in the Park! Be sure to get there early for our picnic and pictures with the Easter Bunny. There is a suggested donation of $5 for photos with the Easter Bunny; all proceeds go toward the Lakewood Elementary Expansion Foundation (LEEF).

It was named “Best Book of 2013″ by Amazon.com and hailed as “a wide-ranging, emotionally trenchant masterpiece.” Our next book club meeting will be Monday, April 21 at 7 p.m. at The Wine Therapist, 1909 Skillman. We will meet in the upstairs area and will be discussing “The Goldfinch.”

Start clearing out your closets for the annual Neighborhood Garage Sale on Saturday, May 10. With the Lakewood Elementary Expansion Foundation (LEEF) funding on everyone’s minds, we are including an option for you to donate all garage sale proceeds to LEEF. Each neighbor participating will sell their goods at their own house beginning at 8 a.m. and closing time is up to you.
