Uprising!
This is Easter Week! It begins with Palm Sunday and races through the events of the week to culminate with the Last Supper, the crucifixion of Christ, and finally resurrection! We celebrate Easter as the day of resurrection. We will commemorate this “uprising” of the risen life of Jesus and the revolution of His people in new life!
15:3 For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received—that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, 15:4 and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures, 15:5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 15:6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 15:7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 15:8 Last of all, as though to one born at the wrong time, he appeared to me also.
–I Corinthians 15
This year, we are taking our Easter services out to the community. The early church did this and we want to do the same. Already we have over 60 people who want to get baptized—and there will be an opportunity for you to join them. This is going to be a spiritually full and vibrant day of worship and public baptisms.
This is a full week. Here’s a recap of the major events:
- Good Friday services at 6 & 8 pm. Childcare will be provided for children from birth through kindergarten. The services will be led by our choir and orchestra and will reflect on the love of Jesus as He paid the ultimate price for our sins on the cross.
- Saturday Prayer. Join us from 3:30-4:30 pm at the Fullerton High School stadium to walk around and pray for the needs of the Easter service.
- Easter Sunrise service at 7:30 am in NC190. John Coulombe will lead this service of traditional hymns and choruses.
- Main Easter services at 9 & 11 am. These will be off campus at Fullerton High School football stadium. In church we showed a great video about our main Easter service, including all you need to know—click here to see the video! This service will be a joyous celebration of life as we worship and share stories of what God is doing in the lives of many folks in our community through public baptism.
Our Easter Gift to the Community
Just as God has richly given us the gift of Christ, so Christians are generous to others. God has blessed us with life in Christ and we want to bless our community. We have set a goal of raising $20,000 for Fullerton High School. These funds will go to tangible items for the school: display boards, landscaping, iPods for educational use and other things to help the teachers and students. To participate in this, you can write “Easter Project” on your check or choose that designation when giving online.
Parking
To help with parking at the Easter services at the FHS stadium, we are giving out parking passes. Come by the church to get one! See Alise Ramseyer in the Modular office during the week.
More Info
There is more information on the website about the Easter service. You can learn about Seniors & Special Needs, Parking & Transportation, Seating (bring a cushion!), Kids Zone, Baptism, Volunteers Needed, Prayer, First Aid/Security/Lost & Found and much more. And don’t forget your sunblock!
Evening Service
Our 5:00 pm service will not meet Sunday.
Join us as we celebrate with our community the joy of Easter. Jesus came to bring life and bring it abundantly. He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Women’s Summer Study
Wednesdays, June 11-July 30, 7:00-9:00 pm, Commons.
What happens when your restless heart meets His relentless love? Join us in pursuing that answer this summer in Restless, an 8-session, video-based study from Jennie Allen. We’ll look at the life of Joseph and see how his passions, relationships, and suffering fit into the greater story of God—and how our stories can do the same. Come laugh together, learn together, worship together. Bring a friend or borrow some of ours! Registration online begins April 20; contact the Women’s Ministries office, 714.257.4312, for more info.
