Chobani founder inspires student startups

A sold out audience of over 450 people packed Ithaca College on April 8th at the first  UVANY student entrepreneur event.  Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder and CEO, Chobani, delivered a rousing keynote address followed by 9 strong “pitches” by student entrepreneurs from an array of CNY Universities and Colleges.  Read more on our blog

TriNet: From startup to IPO

UVC Founder and Chairman, Martin Babinec joined an elite group of Upstate NY based entrepreneurs when his company Trinet had its IPO on March 27th "TNET". Since 2010 Martin has been active as an angel investor, startup founder, speaker, and blogger.  Martin's reflections on his journey are posted on his new website.

http://www.htr.org/6th-annual-celebration-entrepreneurship-luncheonNoted venture capitalist, author, startup ecosystem builder, and friend of UVC, Victor Hwang is coming back to Upstate May 2 as the keynote speaker at the 6th Annual Rochester Entrepreneurship Luncheon.  In previous years, Victor has spoken and run workshops in Saratoga Springs and Buffalo, while his partner and co-author, Greg Horowitt has done the same in Central NY.
 

Top startups visit Syracuse

StartFast LogoSyracuse based Startfast Venture Accelerator will host 16 startups that are finalist for its 2014 summer class.  The day long event at the Tech Garden will include startup pitches and an opportunity for Startfast investors and mentors to meet the teams and provide input for the final selection.  To become involved as an Starfast investor or mentor contact Chuck Stormon or Nasir Ali.
