Join business leaders, investors, universities, and entrepreneurs at The Garage, an economic development event hosted by the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, on Thursday, May 1 from noon to 7:30 p.m. at the Rhode Island Convention Center.
Did you know that advanced manufacturing and consumer product development continue to be key growth industries in Rhode Island? Representatives from these industry clusters will share with us at The Garage their stories of launching, evolving, and succeeding and weigh in on how we can continue to see these industries grow in the Ocean State.
We will hear from Anvil International, a company that was founded in Providence in 1850 as Providence Steam and Gas Pipe Company, and has evolved from its primitive metal and pipe “blacksmith work†to more advanced steel forming technologies, as well as developing its own Proprietary Design Software. The business continues to evolve with emphasis on an advancement of technology and systems philosophy in an effort to remain competitive in the global marketplace.
Teespring co-founder Bill Cesare will also share his story, starting a company two and a half years ago that is headquartered in Providence with over 100 full time employees. Teespring is changing the way we buy and sell on the web.
These are just two of the companies that will be at The Garage sharing their growth stories and insights into two industry sectors with so much potential in our state.
