Dear Friends,

After March's travels to Toronto for the Feminist Art Conference and Ann Arbor for the Social Justice Art Festival, we are happy to be home and finally back in the studio. Above is a behind-the-scenes snapshot from our shoot earlier this week. I hope spring has sprung in your neck of the woods and you have a beautiful weekend on tap. As always, thank you for welcoming me into your inbox! :-)

Updates / Events

April Cycle. After taking a short break from still photography, we returned to our roots earlier this week. Sadly though, this return to the studio did not yield satisfactory results so we will not be introducing any new photographs into our gallery this month. Have no fear we will return to the studio very soon and plan to have some bloody good new photos in May!
See It Live.

"Period Pieces" Pop Up | Urban Artroom
Stockholm, Sweden

Period Pieces was such a success in Gothenburg that the Urban Artroom's sister gallery in Stockholm requested the exhibit travel for a 'pop up' event. In honor of the Period Pieces art show, I have self-published an e-book featuring the Beauty in Beauty pieces in the exhibit as well as an updated artist statement.

"Juried Art Show" | The Kinsey Institute
Indiana University - Bloomington, IN

We are delighted to announce that Beauty in Blood will have two (2) images on display at the 9th Annual Juried Art Show at The Kinsey Institute this spring/summer. If you are in the Bloomington area on May 16th, please stop by and say hi. Rob and I will be taking a little road trip to Indiana to attend the Opening Reception as well as speak during the artist "Show & Tell" event the following day. For all the details, please visit The Kinsey Institute's website.
Let's talk about menstruation.

While attending the Feminist Art Conference, I had the awesome opportunity to be interviewed by Jess Beaulieu and Natalie Norman for the menstruation podcast The Crimson Wave. If you have not tuned in, I strongly encourage you to do so because these ladies are hilarious! Menstruation has never been so much fun! To hear my interview, check out episode #7 on iTunes (psst, it's a FREE download!).
For those of you who speak Swedish, documentarian Zayera Khan will soon release "Vi Som Bloder" or "We Who Bleed", a short documentary exploring the various experiential stages of menstruation. Excitedly, a couple minutes of Beauty in Blood footage is featured throughout the 30-minute documentary. Stay tuned for release details and dates.
