ZAVEN
Retrospective Exhibition

MACAM honored the Lebanese-Armenian master sculptor Zaven Hadichian with a retrospective exhibition. His bronze sculptures comprising fifty-five years of creativity are exhibited. His famous marble sculpture ‘Homage to Rodin’ was cast in bronze, unveiled and presented to the honored artist. Zaven’s modern abstract sculptures with their fluent lines always rising upwards in elegant movements were admired in the presence of the old master in a congenial warm atmosphere.

The AGE OF BRONZE
Honoring the Laureates

On Saturday, April 21 almost two hundred art loving guests celebrated at MACAM the winners in the AGE OF BRONZE Competition: Ghassan Ghazal, Saba Sadr and Sabine Karam. The weeks before, the laureates had followed the complex process of lost-wax bronze casting at the studio of Nabil Basbous in Rachana. Receiving their models newly cast in bronze at the celebration marked the finale of the Bronze Age competition.

Nine months after inauguration MACAM received its 2000th visitor at Zaven’s retrospective exhibition. It happened to be Bernard Ghanem, a friend and exhibiting artist at MACAM. He was presented the book RESONANCES by Helen Khal as a token of appreciation.
