“Like cold water to a weary soul, so is good news from a distant land”
Proverbs 25:25
March was a very busy month for Open Eyes all over Central America!
Costa Rica
Faith Promise Costa Rica opened, and I was given the honor of preaching the first message in Canas, Costa Rica in March and meeting with the leaders of the church. We returned on March 27-31 along with Pastor Chris and Michele Stephens, Justin Petrowski, Micah Stephens, and Pastor Brad Ervin for some glorious days of filming messages by Pastor Chris, meeting with leaders and baptizing 17 people and much more.
Nicaragua
From Eric and Melissa Weber. So far this year we have had seven teams for a total of 89 people, visited 243 families with food boxes with 371 salvations this year.We have added a school with 123 students in Salinas, built a house for a church leader and put a roof on a church.
Honduras
We graduated 80 students at two universities in Leadership who received our 20 hour course.
We provided a two day leadership conference for business women and also leadership training for ten churches and the National Police. So far this year in the past three months we have had 570 professions of faith. God continues to move and we continue to go.
Daniel Shwertz, our intern for three months, will leave on April 5th and he has done a fantastic job of ministering, translating, teaching English and learning about how to be a missionary.
From Daniel: My time in Honduras has been quite literally unbelievable. At no point in my life did I ever believe I would be doing any of the things that I have been doing. I cannot express the depth of appreciation that I have for Open Eyes Ministries for affording me this amazing opportunity. Thanks to them, I have been able to gain experience in the fields of foreign missions, leadership training, managing a ministry, teaching, preaching, and many other wonderful things that I simply don’t have the space or time to enumerate.
Praise to the Lord for blessing me with this chance to serve Him abroad, and thank you to all those who have supported me financially and spiritually in order for me to have this opportunity
We are so blessed to be given the opportunity to minister to so many people in so many places and pray that the Lord of the Harvest will send laborers for the fields are ripe with harvest.
- Please continue to pray for our Feeding program which is short on funds. Remember we feed approximately 125 hungry and needy children each day.
- Remember to pray for our children at Home of Hope who are so sweet and with your help are well cared for.
- Pray for our friend and co-worker, Gaby Murillo, who lost her brother in March. He was a Pastor in Tegucigalpa and only 33 years old. She misses him very much
