Moving forward you may want to start finding new recipes or even making up your own. There are a lot of great resources out there that have recipes that fit into or mostly fit into the constraints of the diet. Some of my favorites are:
You can also find great success if you do a web search for recipes that comply with the paleo diet, the specific carbohydrate diet, the GAPS diet and the Body Ecology Diet. The
foundation of Dr. Singleton's diet has many share philosophies with these diets.
One thing that I will caution you on is that a lot of the recipes that I've found that fit within these diets can go pretty heavy on the honey. While raw honey is a natural sweetener, it's still VERY sweet. Remember what Dr. Singleton says of sweets – they should be eaten sparingly!
Additionally, you can visit the
resources page of our web site where we have some of our favorite books and web sites.
One of my favorite things to do is find a store bought treat that fits within the diet's protocol, look at the ingredients and try to replicate it. That's where some of our ideas, like the
Chocolate Coconut Macaroons, come from. As you get more and more comfortable on the diet and in the kitchen, try it out. It's a lot of fun! :)
