A Message from Emily:
Dear MRH Friends,
It is long lost I writing! Though I have not really been lost, but rather, just a little preoccupied these past months. The start of this year found my husband and I both expectantly awaiting and subsequently celebrating the arrival of our first child, a son, whom we named Soren (see more pictures here)!
As any parent before me knows, these past few months have brought the most amazing, inspiring, heart fulfilling and yes, at times, challenging moments! I simply cannot believe that my little guy is three months old now. Wow! It is both an ultimate joy and a grand privilege to know and love him!
I remember when my last foal (Frisco) was born several years back and how all I wanted to do was sit and watch him. And sit and watch him I did! Every little move he made, each little bound, whinny and frolick, all brought such joy! Before becoming a Mother I had often wondered if I would be as crazy about my future child as I was for horses (after all, I am awful crazy about horses). While they are both wonderful, though quite different -- for example, one it is permissible to tie up and rather frowned down upon to do so with the other (though I won't tell you which is which!) -- the verdict is in, and indeed the arrival of my son has caused my heart to break open further, deeper and wider than I knew possible.
He and I have enjoyed some very precious and memorable time together in his first 3 months of life and while I do lament aspects of maternity leave coming to an end, I equally revel in my ability to get back at it with you! And speaking of you . . . let me extend my most sincere thanks to you, the wonderful friends and clients of MRH, for your support, encouragement and most of all patience during these past months as I have enjoyed some focused time with my new little colt!
The eagerly awaited arrival of spring this year brings us all, I am sure, both relief and great pleasure after what felt like a long and bitterly cold winter. As grand as these past months have been, I have also been missing my horse time and am anxiously awaiting getting back at it with you all. Good news, that time is now here!
The spring line-up of horsemanship offerings are now on the calendar and the rest of the year will be added shortly. Be sure to check out the upcoming events in the section below as I do look forward to getting back at it with you and your horse very soon!
With Joy & Gratitude,
Emily
P.S. And of course, how could I write on this special day without wishing all you Moms out there (now, myself included!) a very happy and wonderful Mother's Day!
