Social this Friday, 6pm
This is our last get together prior to Nosh Night (prize giving) and a chance to catch up on the season's racing, have a chit chat with friends about things nothing to do with sailing, and to begin to talk about plans for next season.
Marilize has been busy cooking up Lasagne for us. $10 will get you a slice of this magnificent dish with an accompanying salad, followed by ice cream and possibly a brownie. Drinks will be on offer but you can byo as well. 6pm start. Please click here to RSVP to let Marilize know you are attending so she can cater appropriately. Vegetarians, you can bring your own 'meat' to accompany the salad and bread.
Autumn Series Results
Thanks to Brendan, Jeff, Don, Gail, Mike, Fergus, Clive, and Crispin for a great day's racing on Sunday. Series results to date are on these links:
*The Open results are highly provisional as Jeff's brilliant performance at the start of the series has caught out our new Duty formula, which uses averages. Jeff, bask in your moment of glory but be prepared for a slip from the top of the podium when you next see the results! As always, bottles of rum can change hands to influence the outcome.
Final Autumn Series race #5 is on Sunday 18th May.
Pursuit Race, 1st June
We will be running our traditional Pursuit Race on closing day. Everyone is in with a chance on the day so we hope to see some keen racing for the final FBYC event of the season.
Time to return your trophies
Winners from last season are reminded that you should be returning your trophies, polished and engraved to the club by Closing Day (June 1st). Please do the polishing yourself and return the trophy in tip top condition to a Committee Member.
Photo Call
It would be great to update the website over winter with photos from club racing, open meetings and the recent Starling and Optimist Nationals. Please let Matt know if you have some photos you are happy to share.
Sponsor Shout Out
The club would not have been able to run as smoothly as it did this year without the support of our local sponsors and it has been wonderful to have these businesses on board supporting the club's growth.
Be sure to visit Titirangi Super Value and the Aussie Butcher in New Lynn. Thanks to both these local businesses for keeping hungry mouths fed.
Thanks too to Indigo Print and make sure they are the people you call next time you need printing done at work; posters, flyers, cards, they can pretty much print anything.
Lastly for business, income, health, trauma and life insurance please consider using the services of Strategic Insurance next time you have a policy that's coming up for renewal.
As the season draws to a close a big thank you from all the sailing families at FBYC!
See you at the social on Friday!
