George Singleton

Thurs, May 8 at 7pm
Hub City Bookshop

No one writes short stories quite like local author George Singleton! Head on down to Hub City Bookshop to join us in celebrating the release of his newest book - Between Wrecks!

Between Wrecks takes readers on a raucous bar crawl through an America both startlingly familiar and hilariously absurd, examining paranoia, fear, relentless “truths,” longstanding personal habits gone awry, and what it means to look toward a horizon that may or may not be a mirage.

George Singleton is the author of two novels and five short story collections, including Stray Decorum. He teaches writing at Wofford College.

You are cordially invited to join us for a book talk and reading by Jon Sealy, author of The Whiskey Baron, the latest Hub City Press novel.

Hailed as a “grand new talent” (Bret Lott) and a “significant new voice in Southern fiction” (Ron Rash), Jon Sealy has written a haunting debut novel. With its unforgettable characters and evocative setting, The Whiskey Baron is a gripping drama about family ties and bad choices, about the folly of power and the limitations of the law.

Jon Sealy’s fiction has appeared in The Sun, The Normal School, and PANK, among other places. A native of upstate South Carolina, he currently lives in Richmond, Virginia. This is his first novel.

This event is sponsored by Neely Windows, Doors & More!
