Quick Note: You've Been HACKED!

You've Been Hacked!

April 29, 2014   by Jon Kamm
America Online announced yesterday that a significant number of AOL account usernames, passwords, contact lists were compromised. Personally, I have seen several spam messages that confirm this. Last week I received a number of messages that were sent from mail servers OTHER than AOL that contained usernames and account information that indicated that the information came from a compromised AOL user.

The good news for AOL users is that if you change your password you should be protected (see this month's newsletter). For the rest of us that know AOL users that were hacked, the hackers already have OUR email addresses and we can do nothing to stop them -- short of changing our email address -- big bummer! :-(

As the old adage goes... Friends don't let friends use AOL! See You've Got Hacked for more info.

P.S. A Blast from the past... remember the AOL CDs that used to come in the mail? Here is a great use for them!
