Lesson 228: Able to Keep Us Secure
God requires holiness. The question is: how does He enable us to succeed in holiness?
In Pilgrim’s Progress, Bunyan’s travelers found a mirror. The front side reflected our normal appearance, warts and all. But on the back of the mirror was a picture of the crucified Christ. Anyone looking at the person from the back of the mirror saw only God’s Son.
God’s power is able to keep us secure.
Jude 24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy
2 Tim.1:12 I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.
John 10:28-29 I give them eternal life, & they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, & no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
