Lesson 224: My Shepherd Will Supply My Need
Before we can have this joy, we have to choose to give up our sin. Not just once at salvation, but every moment.
Not just because it deprives us of joy, but because it grieves God. We have to trust the fact that believers can actually say no to sin. God makes it possible.
1 Cor.15:57 thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Every Christian is dead to sin: Christ freed us from sin’s dominion. Sin no longer rules over us.
We must choose to discipline ourselves to obey God & accept that we are responsible to do this.
Phil.4:19 God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Whatever God asks of us, He supplies. He enables us to do His will.
John 10:11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
The Lord is my shepherd. He is responsible to provide and care for His flock. He has given each believer the indwelling Holy Spirit. He revealed His will in Scripture.
God already provided everything we need as we pursue holiness. He commands us to be holy.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
