Dear Friend,
Somebody pinch us. There's no way the semester is already over, right? Can you believe that this is our last newsletter of the academic year? It can't possibly be true.
But don't check out yet! There's still so much going on.
Registration is closed for the Tufts Century Ride this Friday, but there are plenty of other bike events coming up as part of Bay State Bike Week, including the MassCommute Bicycle Challenge.
Other highlights from this issue: Our Eco-Representatives have a last round of blog updates. View some of the best photos from EarthFest 2014 and our semester-long Sustainable Selfies contest. Enter to win $50 by taking a transportation survey! Plus, purchase discounted tickets to SILA, a new play about the personal stories behind climate change.
There are also two new apps to make navigating Boston easier and greener: DoubleMap, a new tracker for the Tufts shuttles, and RideScout, which aggregates information about transit in Boston.
As always, you will also find news from our Twitter feed highlights, jobs, events, and a featured video.
Stay green, and happy travels!

You may have received an email from our office within the last few weeks asking you to complete a transportation survey. This survey helps the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection analyze commuter trends and identify opportunities for alternative transport. Tufts also uses this information to estimate its greenhouse gas emissions and to maintain commuter and transit programs.
Please take the time to complete the survey! You will be entered to win $50.
Didn't receive the survey in your email? You can still take the survey at this public link.
It only takes a few minutes. Your input is greatly appreciated!

Okay, so we lied. We actually have TWO featured videos this week. You can find the second one below in its usual place - but here is a great compilation from our Eco-Rep Murvi featuring some of our favorite environmentally-active students!

The environment can be defined in many ways but my favorite is: where we eat, live, and play. I think it makes a lot of sense for the environment is not some abstract concept but our very surroundings, where we live, eat, study, and go to class. Our environment is Tufts!

If you're looking for the best way to get from Point A to Point B in Boston (say, from Tufts to the Institute of Contemporary Art), consider trying RideScout, a transportation app that shows you all forms of transportation in one place, including the T, bike, taxi, rideshare, bikesahre, walking, driving, and parking. Stop trying to plan your trip by looking at multiple apps or website, and let RideScout do the work for you. The app is available for download now.

April 24-May 25th, 2014
Central Square Theater
Earlier this year, actors from the Underground Railway Theater brought to Tufts an exclusive reading of SILA, a play by Chantal Bilodeau that depicts the complicated human (and animal!) stories behind climate change. The play is now stage-ready, and as a friend of the Office of Sustainability, you can purchase specially discounted tickets!
On remote Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic, eight characters - including a climate scientist, an Inuit family, and two polar bears - grapple with the effects of a rapidly changing climate. Sila - the Inuit word for the breath that connects all living things - blends Inuit myth with contemporary Arctic policy, three languages (English, French, and Inukitut), spoken word poetry, a diverse acting ensemble, and spectacular puppetry, to illuminate the competing interests shaping the future of the local Inuit population and of our planet.
When you purchase tickets, use the code word TUFTS for a 15% discount! You can also use the discount code on the phone: (617) 576-9278 (CST Box Office) or 866-811-4111 (Ovation Tix). For Group Sales, call 617-547-9278, x210.
