UNDP Supports RCREEE’s Annual Energy Efficiency Index
The Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) signed a Letter of Agreement to engage in a grant collaboration for RCREEE’s flagship publication, the Arab Future Energy Index (AFEX) - Energy Efficiency. The UNDP grant aims to support RCREEE with the research and analysis of its annual assessment and benchmark report, the Arab Future Energy Index™ (AFEX) on Energy Efficiency.

Energy Efficiency Week in Tunisia
14-18 April, 2014 - RCREEE participated in organization of two Energy Efficiency (EE) focused events in Tunisia. The EE Week started with a regional seminar focusing on Enabling Policies for Financing Energy Efficiency Investments . The seminar was organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in collaboration with RCREEE, the Tunisian Agency for Energy Conservation (ANME) and the Energy Department of the League of Arab States.
Afterwards, RCREEE organized a three day training course on EE policies and programs. In addition, it covered basic concepts related to energy statistics, balance and indicators, as well as EE evaluation and monitoring tools.

RCREEE is a Speaker at “Enabling Renewables Integration in the Electricity System” Workshop
April 16, 2014 - RCREEE Head of Projects and Technical Affairs , Eng. Maged Mahmoud, participated as a speaker at “Enabling Renewables Integration in the Electricity System” Workshop. Eng. Mahmoud’s presentation focused on the technical impact of renewable energy on electricity networks.
The workshop was organized by the Arab Union of Electricity in cooperation with Dii GmbH, STEG-Tunisia and MEDELEC. The workshop tackled a number of topics including the benefits of renewable energies across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
