Supreme Court Denies Writs in Privatization Case
On April 25, 2014, by unanimous consent, the Louisiana Supreme Court denied writs applied for by the St. James, Pointe Coupee, and Evangeline Parish School Boards in their suit to enjoin LSERS from collecting on privatization pursuant to La. R.S. 11:1195.1 and 1195.2. The case was tried on December 13, 2012. Judge Hernandez dismissed the plaintiff's claims ruling in favor of LSERS. The plaintiff school boards appealed the ruling. On February 14, 2014, the First Circuit Court of Appeal affirmed the ruling of the lower court and assessed the costs of the appeal against the school boards. This ruling by the Louisiana Supreme Court brings the case to a conclusion favorable to LSERS.

Salary Contribution Reports for Fiscal Year 2013-14
As we approach the end of the fiscal year this is a reminder regarding upcoming deadlines for submitting FY 2013-14 Salary Contribution Reports.
July 15, 2014 - All salary reports through June 2014 are due from employers who report LSERS contributions.
July 25, 2014 - All contribution exceptions must be cleared and all online contribution corrections must be processed.
