Aerobility Update
Aerobility

Aerobility is getting simpler.

Having different varieties of membership has made it increasingly difficult to ensure that the right messages reach the right people, so we're making some changes to sort that out.

Two new categories will replace the existing structure: Aerobility Flyers and Aerobility Supporters.

Aerobility Flyers

Aerobility Flyers include those with an impairment who wish to take advantage of the range of services that Aerobility offer, including flying, use of the simulator, ground school, and other ground based activities. Anyone who is eligible* can apply to be a Flyer.

The biggest change here is that Aerobility Flyers will not have to pay a subscription - there is no fee to be part of the Aerobility Flyer community. However, Aerobility sincerely hope that Flyers who feel the charity is worthy of their backing, and are able to, would consider becoming (or remaining) a Supporter with a regular donation.

All eligible persons will become Aerobility Flyers on completion of an Application Form - we will ask you to renew annually to keep the community a dynamic one.

Aerobility Supporters

This vital and much appreciated part of the Aerobility community, made up of people with disabilities and people without disabilities, support the charity in many different ways. Whether it is with a regular donation or by contributing time as a volunteer, the Aerobility Supporters are an integral part of the charity's success.

For those of you that currently make a regular donation through our Direct Debit scheme, you do not need to take any action - this will continue.

If you would like more information on becoming an Aerobility Flyer or an Aerobility Supporter please fill in our simple online form and we will be in touch.

This much simpler structure will facilitate accurate and timely communications, and we hope will encourage many more people to become part of the Aerobility community. The website will reflect these changes in due course.

*As defined in the Equality Act 2010, a disabled person is someone with a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on their ability to carry out day-to-day activities. Only disabled people are able to enjoy the benefit of the charity’s assets, with subsidised flying instruction and aircraft solo hire to the suitably qualified.
