SUPPORT THE SPRING BOOK FAIR:
Summer Reading Forms Due May 15th
The CHMS Book Fair is Tuesday, April 29th - Thursday, May 1st in the MRC. The Book Fair will be open each day from 7:30 am - 4 pm, as well as 5-8pm on Tuesday and 6-8pm on Wednesday. Please send money with your child as they will be visiting the Book Fair during their LA class period and they can shop during lunch or after school.
The Book Fair will be selling lots of amazing books, including all of the summer reading book choices. The Summer Reading List can be found on the PTO website (www.chmspto.org). Your child is required to read at least one book from this list and be prepared to discuss it in the fall. You can either purchase the summer reading books at the fair or order them with the form found on the PTO website. Summer reading order forms must be turned into the MRC by May 15th if you would like your child's books to be delivered to their advisory by the end of the school year.
Please shop the Book Fair and order your child's summer reading books through CHMS because the 20% we earn allows us to purchase great new books for the MRC. New this year, Anderson Book Fair Company also gives CHMS 20% of all online sales if you order on their website anytime of the year. This 24/7/365 program can be found on their website at www.andersons.indiebound.com. There is a tab for CHMS Summer Reading Lists, as well as the Spring Book Fair Flyer books. This website offers over 6,000 titles for your enjoyment. Thanks for your support!

TVs can be recycled for a donation ($10-$40 depending on the size). They will also see what AVA Recycling, TESLA Motors, The Conservation Foundation, CHCO2 and USAgain are doing to help the environment. The TESLA car will be on display. Attached are flyers for this event.
8th Grade Washington DC Trip
Many thanks to our fantastic teachers and staff that took time away from their families to act as chaperones to our 8th grade class on their trip to Washington DC earlier this week. The 8th graders had an amazing time seeing the sights and were lucky enough to have a private visit with Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayer.
Additional thanks to the families that donated money to our Angel Fund that ensured all students were able to participate in this fantastic trip. 6th, 7th & 8th Grade families should look for the MANNA Fundraising table at Back to School Day in August because the PTO will be sponsoring this fundraiser where you can purchase gift cards throughout the year and the profits go DIRECTLY TO YOUR STUDENTS WASHINGTON DC TRIP ACCOUNT. Start saving in 6th grade and you will have three years to earn the money needed.
