FOOD TRUCK FEST -THIS SUNDAY!!!
This Sunday, May 25 Nashville First is hosting a Food Truck Fest!  ALL NFCN attenders are encouraged to bring a friend to church, stay for Sunday School, then come out to the Woodland Street Parking lot to eat at some of the best and well-known Food Trucks in Nashville!!!!  Come comfortably dressed for the activities of the day.  There will be bounce houses for kids and cornhole boards set up.  There is NO evening church this Sunday so plan to stay after church and enjoy the food trucks and fellowship!

What a special night for several hundred Friday evening as Kristen Burgett and Tyler Whetstone wed in a beautiful ceremony.   Rumor has it that Linda Deason was inviting pastors onto the dance floor at the reception!

Saturday's Health and Happy Fest was a great day of fun, food and fellowship, all for a great cause - the Bill Van Mullen Memorial Medical Clinic in Haiti that our Mission Team is there NOW building!  Here are some pictures to give you an idea of the great music and time we had together!

Looking for a great way to enjoy Nashville and support our Haiti Medical Clinic Project?  Buy a City coupon book for $20.  It includes hundreds of coupons for restaurants and family entertainment.  They are available at the Connection Center this Sunday or contact Gwen Kinney.  The Haiti Medical Clinic Project partners with Haiti’s local churches by building, supplying and staffing medical clinics where basic health care is absent.

Saturday evening Pastors Ulmet, Oldham and Galloway and the Victory Class had a party together at the home of the Forman's.  The house was packed - the food great - and the laughter huge!  A great time was had by all.

Sunday evening we were moved by the personal testimony of Emman and Jade Chapman who are moving to Brisbane, Australia next week to begin their mission work.  They have been involved and on staff at Clarksville First Nazarene here in Tennessee.  The offering raised was nearly $1000.  Please be in prayer for the Chapman's.

While Pastor Sabrina Jones was out in our East Nashville community schools and organizations on Monday this week distributing lists of Summer Time Activities for Children at NFCN, Principal Michael Ross presented her, on behalf of Caldwell Elementary School, a plaque in appreciation for the many ways that Nashville First Church of the Nazarene has partnered with their school in support of their efforts to children.

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
Our spring session concluded last Sunday night with 26 enrolled, and nine who had perfect attendance through the nine weeks of the course.  A new course will be scheduled beginning in September; if you have not completed FPU consider participating this fall!

GIVING REPORT
The end of the church’s fiscal year is May 31, and we need YOUR help to meet all obligations for this year. We had a great offering last week and now need $65,600 in tithes, offerings, and faith promise this week to meet our budgeted projection for May giving; a total offering of $71,900 would mean that we have met our giving goals for the November-May period. With God’s help, we can do it!  It’s a good time to “catch up” on your tithing, to get started in regular giving, or to provide a special gift for our fiscal year-end to help reach our goals. Let the church office know if you have questions or we can help you in any way.

Tuesday's devotional passage in Ashes to Fire Journal was from Luke 8, regarding the parable of the Sower and the Seed.  Jesus was telling us in story form to KEEP SPREADING SEED - realizing much of it, indeed the majority of it, will not develop into mature harvest, but KEEP SPREADING ANYWAY!

When you're at church - spread seed!  When you're at work - sow seed.  When you're at home in the neighborhood - throw out some seed.  When you are leisure, shopping or doing business - always have a handful of seed with you.  The seed of course is the Word of God Jesus says in Luke 8:11.  It is the Word of God that takes hold in people and reaps spiritual harvest.

We never know when we are in the presence of a person with "noble and good heart" as Luke 8:15 says, and will not only hear the Word we sow, but will retain it, and fruit is produced from that seed that matures.  It won't be the majority - no - but it will happen - if we continue sowing seed.

Friends, take the Word with you.  Don't ever fail to sow it into people's lives.  Live, be and voice the Word to people all around you.  Sow seed.  That's our calling.  That's our responsibility.  The more we sow -the more harvest and fruit is produced.  Yes, the more that will reject or not retain it also, but we will see the fruit of our labors.

Key question:  Are you taking in enough of the Word to have seed to share with others?  God help me to always be ready.
