Introducing Erin Kerr
Let me introduce a new pastor on our staff. Erin Kerr is our Pastor of New Faith & Growth. In 2005, Erin married Joy and they have two wonderful daughters, Autumn (5 1/2) and Eden (16 months). They are a warm and engaging couple—you will love to get to know them! As you get to know Erin, you will find him high on relational connectedness, leadership and sharing Christ.
A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Erin also attended and graduated from North Park Seminary in Chicago. He is a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan, and enjoys “reading, coffee, burritos, the beach, Crossfit, running, biking, swimming, Frisbee and everything Apple.” All of that looks good—except some will question his judgment about liking the Cowboys.
Erin is a passionate servant leader of the Gospel who has had the privilege to serve in small and large church contexts. He has launched, communicated and developed ministries, teams and communities into fully committed followers of Jesus who live on a mission for the glory of God. Most recently he and Joy were planting a church in Tustin. Before that, he was a Campus Pastor at Saddleback Church—and so he brings strong skills for the day when we launch a new worship venue. Mike and Erin know each other from their time at Mariners Church, where Erin took the leadership of the college ministry as Mike was leaving for Rock Harbor.
As the Pastor of New Faith & Growth, Erin will help lots of new people get connected to EvFree. We want to introduce Jesus and our church to all the newcomers. This will require the creation of some sort of “8–10 week small group/large group class.” This is the “thing” that we want every new person to get involved in. We want to introduce people to Christ and our church, pointing them to be missionally engaged Christ-followers.
It will also be Erin’s responsibility to help the people of EvFree share our faith, creating and developing a system of engaging people to live on mission. We all are in need of some encouragement to connect people from all spiritual backgrounds to Jesus.
When you see Erin, Joy and their two daughters, please give them a huge welcome!

Join us for Love Fullerton, a city-wide day of community service. On Saturday May 17, we will join together with churches, businesses, city government, schools and local residents. The day will begin with a rally downtown at the plaza on Wilshire & Harbor at 9:00 am, with festivities beginning at 8:00 am with free food and services. We will then work from 9:30 am–12:30 pm and wrap up the day with a BBQ lunch at Hillcrest Park at 1:00 pm. You do not have to live in Fullerton to participate. Our hope is that this movement spreads to other cities.
Find out more info and sign up for projects on the website lovefullerton.org or on the Plaza. We need people to help paint, visit with the homeless, spruce up local schools, pack meals for orphans, and much more. Remember, we are blessed to bless others, that is our calling!
