Rosendale Library will be closed May 24 - June 9
Interior renovations will close the Rosendale Library, 264 Main St to the public from Sat May 24-Mon June 9....reopening on Tues June 10, 2014. Meanwhile, library materials can be renewed online, returned to any other Mid-Hudson Library System public library, & if overdue following the closure, fines will be waived when we re-open.

The Anna Mae Auchmoedy / Lottie Burns Scholarship 2014
Every Spring the Friends of the Rosendale Library give a $750 scholarship to a graduating high school senior. The money is to be used for college expenses. Students from Rondout Valley, Kingston, Coleman and New Paltz high schools who live in the Rosendale Library district may apply.
This year’s winner is Samantha Fuller from Rondout Valley high school.
She will be attending SUNY Oneonta in the Fall. As Samantha says, “A library influences community life in many ways. It provides the people in our community with a quiet center, and offers a place for children to come and learn the amazing wonders of reading. It also works as a community center, holding workshops and lectures open to the public, allowing us to learn new things every day.”
We wish Samantha all the best as she begins her journey in college.
Anna Mae Auchmoedy was the woman we have to thank for the original idea of the Rosendale Library. Anna Mae and the Comus Club of Rosendale started our library in 1940. The Women’s Club of Rosendale was key in promoting and supporting our young library. Lottie Burns worked very closely with Anna Mae for many years.

Summer Reading Update:
Science is so much fun and this summer, we are going to experiment with different aspects of Science as we explore our natural and physical world . Come join us at the Rosendale Library as we FIZZ, BOOM and READ for our school age children and SPARK a REACTION with our teens. Watch for special programs and dates!!!! We will begin mid June and end in August. Come into the library and sign up your child in early June.
Please support our local Stewart's Shops. We are grateful for their generous grant of $500 for our Children's Programs.
