We are delighted to announce that Edgar Martins will be in Conversation with ESA astronaut Jean-François Clervoy and Senior Curator of Photographs at the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) Martin Barnes on May 29th, from 19H00 - 20H00, at The Wapping Project Bankside.
Event is free to attend but booking is essential.
This event will be followed by a book signing, to mark the official launch of The Rehearsal of Space & The Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite, a
La Fabrica/The Moth House publication.




Jean-François Clervoy is an astronaut at the European Space Agency (ESA) who flew on three missions aboard the space shuttle: in 1994 to study the atmosphere, in 1997 to resupply the Russian space station Mir, and in 1999 to repair the Hubble space telescope. Clervoy works as senior advisor for the ESA human space flight programs and as chairman of Novespace which organizes weightlessness parabolic flights aboard the ZERO-G airbus. He is member of several organizations for the promotion of space exploration and for the protection of planet Earth.



Martins Barnes is Senior Curator of Photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) London which he joined in 1995. Previously, he worked for the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and studied at the University of Leicester and the Courtauld Institute of Art, London. He has curated numerous UK touring exhibitions. His publications include Illumine: Photographs by Garry Fabian Miller - A Retrospective (Merrell, 2005); Twilight: Photography in the Magic Hour (V&A / Merrell, 2006) and Shadow Catchers: Camera-less Photography (V&A / Merrell, 2010).
