Events of March & April
Church Ministry News
During March, I completed teaching the Biblical Worldviews course at the church. We also celebrated the church’s 12th anniversary with a special presentation by the church choir. We took advantage of the event to launch a new website for the church (lafe.iglesiabautista.pe) where we are posting most of the messages that are taught on Sundays in mp3 format. If you want to hear me teach in Spanish, you can find it there. I also finished teaching the evangelism course in Huaycan. A couple weeks after the course, the church went to a nearby town and handed out over 1,000 tracts and shared the gospel with many in the town.
In April, I had the opportunity to preach in our special Easter 3-night campaign. After preaching on Saturday about how Satan uses doubt in our life to keep us from knowing God or living for Him, one of the ladies of the church brought a guest of hers to talk to me about the doubts she was having. I was able to share the gospel with her in detail and could tell that she was thinking about what I was sharing with her. I did not pressure her to make a decision but began praying for her. On Sunday night, she returned and told us that she had asked God to forgive her. Please pray for Mercedes. Her husband is an atheist and she has a rough home life.
School Ministry News
There is much to do behind the scenes to prepare for the school administration software and curriculum platform. I have been making progress laying the foundation but much more work is required before it will be ready for production.
I have also had the opportunity to help in two different schools. I spent some time observing teachers at Monterrico Christian School and giving some advice to the administration. I also taught the American Government class for two weeks at FMCA (an English-speaking school for missionary kids) while the teacher was away on a missions trip to the jungle of Peru.
Preparing for Stateside Ministry
We will be returning to the United States in August of 2014. There is still much that needs to be done to prepare for our time of ministry back in the States. Please pray for us as we continue to schedule meetings. If you are interested or know of someone who would be interested in scheduling a meeting during this time, please let me know.
Website Updated
We have completed a redesign of our website to bring it up to date. It has a simpler look and should work better on the different types of devices that are used today. We have also updated some pictures and will continue to add more as time progresses. Let us know what you think.
