Lesson 254: God's Kindness Leads Us to Repent
God is moved by a desperate cry for help. Faith means trusting that God will show mercy when someone humbly acknowledges their need and helplessness, their inability to save themselves.
This is deep truth: we need to confess our hopeless condition daily, so that we can experience God’s grace. But we’re afraid that God will punish us because our performance was not good enough.
Our sinful flesh wants to run. In Eden, Adam and Eve hid from God. But because of Christ, believers are hidden in God. Col.3:3; Psa.32:7, 119:114
God will not turn away in disgust when we come to Him in our desperation.
We can be willing to “take the risk” because we know God’s heart is moved by desperation.
Knowing this moves us to honest confession and deep repentance; we can trust Him. God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance. Rom.2:4

- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
