In this month's letter from the Director,

Lindy Elkins-Tanton shares the news that she has accepted the position of Director of Arizona State University's (ASU) School of Earth and Space Exploration, and will be leaving DTM.

Lara Wagner Joins DTM

as our newest Geophysics staff member. Her prestigious research program in seismology, as well as her positive energy and enthusiasm, will be a great addition to our campus.

Nature's Senior Editor Leslie Sage

discussed how to write a publishable Nature paper at this month's postdoc workshop hosted by DTM. Sage edits roughly 500 of the 2,000 papers submitted each year, making him an expert in what is and is not a publishable Nature paper. 

Awards and Announcements

Postdoctoral Fellow Jackie Faherty kicked-started the NYC based Astronomy on Tap lecture series in Washington D.C.
DTM librarian Shaun Hardy takes us on a tour of the new Campus Archives.
Rick Carlson presented invited public lectures at Oregon State University, University of Alberta, and the Earth Life Science Institute in Tokyo.
Diana Roman gave a talk at the annual Seismological Society of America Meeting in Anchorage.
Geochemistry Lab Manager Mary Horan is awarded the 2013 Service to Science Award by the Carnegie Institution for Science.
DTM showcased their science at the USA Science and Engineering Festival held in Washington D.C.
