Welcome to the newsletter for May.
This month sees us getting even more behind the Space for Cycling campaign, including during the run-up to the local elections, a request for everyone to write to their councillor to support Space for Cycling and to join us on the Big Bike Ride (see below).
There are also dates of more upcoming events, the results of our members survey, some news of press the campaign is getting and a few more of our members' stories.

Upcoming dates for the diary are:
  • 17 May Big Bike Ride – Join us and other groups for a Saturday morning ride around Newcastle in support of the Space for Cycling Campaign.

  • 25 May Tour de Jesmond – A tour of historic Jesmond by bike organised by the Jesmond Residents Association and Jesmond Safe Cycling, all are welcome.

  • 27 May Committee & Members Meeting – Come and join us from 7:00pm for our brand new format meeting, bringing together the committee and members, at the Trent House in Newcastle.

Campaign In The Press

Joining forces with Living Streets and RoadPeace, our call for a people-friendly city centre is highlighted in our joint press releases (Human values of a liveable city and People put first in the city centre), which resulted in this article in The Journal. Space for Cycling also made a feature article: click here.
