It's been an eventful month and a bit. First order of business - a heartfelt thanks to those that have contributed and boarded the good ship "A Captain Unafraid." I've travelled the breath of the country promoting our cause, and I am extremely aware that it is "our" cause, as I said before, your investment in the film is the means by which it will be made. I could have travelled the length of Ireland campaigning too, but Dynamite Johnny might have been lost on those extremities, without proper fore warning!

I've had "Conversations With Weeshie" on Radio Kerry, I've journeyed to "The O' Brien Clan Gathering" in Clontarf, "The Southern Cross" of Argentina and "The Society for Irish Latin American Studies" have even published articles promoting the "A Captain Unafraid" cause. Sometimes I feel like I'm electioneering, and I suppose, in a way, I am!

With two weeks left in the campaign, I'm giving one large push forward with all I've got, trawling and courting fortune, trying to minimise the trouble that inevitably paves the road to glory! If supporting A CAPTAIN UNAFRAID crossed your mind before, and you were humming and hawing, with two weeks left, NOW IS THE TIME to CONTRIBUTE.

If it's a perk (including DVDs, t-shirts, posters, books) that interests ye - by all means contribute to the campaign and get your perk! I'd also ask those that can, to please spread word about "A Captain Unafraid" in whatever fashion they deem best. The easiest way to disseminate the cause is to click on the "A Captain Unafraid Indiegogo Campaign" below, and then, on the "A Captain Unafraid" Indiegogo page, click the "link" button right under the video. This copies the link to your computer's clipboard, allowing you to paste it to your heart's content in e-mail, facebook and general social media. To purchase perks on the Indiegogo page, just click on the contribute now button, then choose the perk of your fancy!

"A Captain Unafraid" Indiegogo Campaign
In campaigning to get this film made I've become even more intransigent in my intentions to see "A Captain Unafraid" packed and ready to ship! It's been tougher than I thought, but I wouldn't have it any other way, these last couple of months have been eye openers.

I've hawked my wares at a clan gathering commemorating the death of a king 1000 years ago to the day (Brian Boru), I've met a round the world solo sailor in his home (Pete Hogan), had conversations with bomb disposal experts, I've heard whisperings of a man called "Dynamite Jim," I've send e-mails by the gallon (very often with no response). I've made a ton of phone calls, I've waxed lyrical on radio waves (Radio Kerry), and sang songs from the bottom of my lungs to a deaf man in a town called Pig's Head (I had a "Dynamite" gig in Kanturk, in which one of the few attendees was deaf!). I've courted Barons (Baron Inchiquin), begged, been courted by beggars (a great slew of people seem to ask you for money when crowd-funding!), my campaign was even shut down for a few hours by The U.S. State Department for "being in breach of U.S. sanctions against Cuba."  Amoung other things, I had to sign documents saying I wasn't in the pay of the Cuban government! (The Indiegogo Campaign will now fund the New York portion of the filming and all the production/post production on the ground in Kerry). And if all that malarky wasn't enough to stop me in my tracks, I don't know what was!

For those that have an interest in seeing the documentary film "A Captain Unafraid" get made sooner, rather than later, click on the campaign link above, and do your darndest! I'll let Johnny have the last word, and I agree with his sentiments highly --

"I have done the things which came to hand in the best way that I knew how; and that, after all, is ambition's best fulfilment."
