Art Starts and Green Shield Canada

Working together to get Toronto moving!

Green Shield Canada is known for community giving and offers a dedicated Community Giving Program. Their mission is to support health and wellness to Canadians through not-for-profit organizations nationwide. Art Starts' Green Shield funding has enabled us to offer Movin' Up, a valuable, creative,  movement-based program. With Green Sheild's generous support, Art Starts has worked with various groups city-wide, include St. Clair West Services for Seniors, where we are engaging seniors in the Eglinton-Oakwood neighbourhood through African Dance workshops with artist Lua Shayenne. The response from participants has been overwhelming! Click below to watch a video and hear from the participants and the impact Moving Up is having on participants in this community.
